Kabanata
The artistic landscape will be more vibrant now that Ombok Villamor has officially opened OMVI Art Gallery here at Vista Mall Sta. Rosa. This endeavor further strengthens the region's contribution to creating artist-run spaces outside Metro Manila. Villamor's personal undertaking to promote and assist fellow artists who are up-and-coming, mid-career, and seasoned is a welcome development, as he sees it as essential to giving back. Before achieving the success he enjoys today, Villamor struggled due to a lack of opportunities and other constraints as a beginner. Understanding the importance of artists showcasing their talents and creative abilities, OMVI Art Gallery aims to provide not just a space for the artistic community, but also to create activities and discover talents often overlooked by galleries and collectors alike. OMVI Art Gallery is a space designed to foster professionalism and cultivate the correct attitude towards work. It envisions itself as a catalyst for well-organized and curated exhibitions, providing a platform to assist exhibiting artists in promoting their art even after their show's duration, such as through active inclusion in digital and printed magazines, catalogues, and websites.
Kabanata represents not just OMVI Art Gallery's initial endeavor, but also Villamor's commitment to his selected roster in starting a new chapter to bolster the art scene, particularly in the regions, with their overflowing support. The participants include Marko Bello, Lei Manto, Emmanuel Nim, Marge Organo, Agi Pagkatipunan, Danny Rayos Del Sol, Michael Villagante, Jik Villanueva, Orley Ypon, and, of course, his mentor, Maestro Raul Isidro.
