This is painting depicts a modern young tennun (yakan tribe handwoven fabric)
weaver during a nennun (actual weaving) in a Yakan community in Zamboanga
city. The weaver uses a backstrap loom using a lightweight wood and a strap
that is wrapped around the back where the tension of her body facilitates the
tension in the loom. She weaves the sepuntangan, a tennun with an intricate
geometric design pattern.
