Christiano Cueno, a dedicated Zamboangueño Artist, embraced his creative calling in his late twenties, setting aside conventional education to pursue his passion for art as career. His journey began with delicate sprays of airbrush, but his fascination with portraiture led him to explore traditional use of charcoal and acrylics. Driven by curiosity he ventured into the use of oil paint which eventually became his primary medium in creating his masterworks. In addition to his studio creations, his gift also graced beautifully in the walls of high-end restaurants and luxury resorts, sealing his mark as a muralist in a class by itself. In transition, Cueno‘s approach to composition focused on different ethnic cultural perspectives and local aesthetic scenes. With the foundation of diversified culture that he is living in, he then came to realize that instead of capturing typical ideas, his work will tend to highlight local legends, ethnic bearers, cultural transition and vignettes of historical events.
